Watec Consulting received the Save the Baltic Sea prize of 20,000 euros from the Finnish Fair Foundation this year.
The filter developed by the company, which can be placed in grate wells, prevents solids and harmful substances from being transported with stormwater into sewers and further into waterways. The purpose of the award is to annually draw attention to the state of the Baltic Sea and to reward an entity that has done valuable work for the environment.
